This adaptive reuse project transforms a classic unreinforced masonry (URM) building with original wood bow-truss roof framing into a refined art gallery space for Hauser & Wirth. The structural work included a full seismic retrofit to bring the historic structure to current code while preserving its architectural character. The exposed bow trusses remain a central visual feature, celebrating the building’s original craftsmanship while supporting the gallery’s expansive, open interiors.
