Project overview

This renovation project reimagines a two-story CMU block building in Los Angeles as a serene, contemporary home for the world-renowned Lisson Gallery. The structural scope focused on upgrading the existing shell to meet modern code and gallery-level performance standards, while keeping interventions minimal and clean. New framing was introduced to create open-plan interiors with high ceilings—ideal for showcasing large-scale artworks in a refined, light-filled environment.

Conclusion

Through subtle reinforcement and strategic modifications, the project transforms a utilitarian structure into a polished, high-functioning cultural space. The result is a gallery that feels both timeless and highly adaptable—allowing the art to lead, supported quietly by thoughtful engineering and restrained architectural intervention.
